The recently concluded D-Paideia Training Course represented an important educational opportunity for Italian teachers, focused on acquiring and strengthening their digital competences in the educational field. The course, structured in a hybrid format, allowed participation both in-person at the University of Florence (FORLILPSI Department) and online, ensuring wide accessibility at the national level.
Organized into five modules, the program provided a comprehensive and targeted overview of aspects that are not fully explored within the DigCompEdu Framework but are essential for quality digital teaching.
Specifically, the Course Program was as follows:
- Module 1 and Module 2 – January 21, 2025: Professional and Pedagogical Competences for Digital Transformation
- Module 3 – February 4, 2025: Managing Educational Relationships with ICT
- Module 4 – February 11, 2025: Diverse and Flexible Facilitation Strategies
- Module 5– February 18, 2025: Managing Digital Identity and Reputation
- Conclusion – February 26, 2025: Feedback and final discussion
Participants, coming from various educational sectors and with different levels of experience, had the chance to explore topics such as managing educational relationships through ICT, developing flexible and inclusive teaching strategies and managing digital identity and reputation. The course saw active participation from teachers in primary, secondary and higher education, fostering an interesting exchange of experiences between those who were already experienced with technology and those who were just starting.

Each module, combining synchronous and asynchronous activities, allowed participants to work on practical exercises submitted via the dedicated web platform and engage in plenary discussion sessions. Each meeting focused on specific themes, with particular attention to the importance of having an adequate awareness of institutional policies regarding digital technologies and digital well-being. At the end of the course, teachers expressed greater awareness of the balance between their personal and professional digital presence, also highlighting the need for continuous evolution in school digital policies.

Additionally, the course offered the opportunity to continue with an additional path to become a Digital Champion at their school, an opportunity that would allow participants to support school management in defining and implementing pedagogical-digital policies, thereby contributing to the digital transformation at an institutional level.
