Empowering Educators: D-PAIDEIA Elevates Teacher Skills in Belgium

Heverlee, Belgium – In today’s world, digital skills are a must in education, and the D-PAIDEIA training program and its consortia are leading the way. This initiative is all about boosting teachers’ digital skills and helping them seamlessly integrate technology into their teaching. Based on the European DigCompEdu framework, this free program offers practical and innovative training tailored to meet educators’ needs.

January Training Sessions: On January 22nd and 29th, 2025, UCLL hosted hybrid training sessions both in-person in Heverlee and online. These sessions saw 27 teachers dive into hands-on activities focused on ICT tools for teaching, digital communication strategies, and online security. The program’s modular structure allows participants to complete some units independently online, while interactive sessions provide a deeper learning experience.

School Visit: Earlier in the month, on January 14th, the D-PAIDEIA team brought their training to a local school, where they worked with 10 enthusiastic teachers eager to enhance their digital competencies.

Small Group Training: Additionally, on November 27th and December 4th, 2024, the team held smaller training sessions for four teachers, helping them fine-tune their digital teaching approaches. These sessions reflect the program’s commitment to equipping educators with the skills necessary to navigate digital learning environments effectively.

A Positive Learning Experience: Participants were thrilled with the program, praising its practical approach and relevance to their daily teaching practices. One teacher mentioned how the training offered new insights on managing digital classrooms and engaging students with interactive tools, while another highlighted the importance of digital security and managing their online identity.

The D-PAIDEIA training continues to play a crucial role in advancing digital education in Belgium. By fostering digital literacy and innovation, it equips teachers with the skills needed to adapt to evolving technological trends and create more dynamic and inclusive learning experiences. For more information on upcoming training sessions, stay tuned!
